多米尼克an Faith Identity at Fenwick High School

St 多米尼克 de Guzman, founder of the Order of Preachers, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, zealously made the proclamation of the Gospel his life’s mission. This zeal led him to preach God’s love and mercy in the region of southern France, and then to gather men around him, who he formed and then sent to establish communities across Europe. These 多米尼克an communities served as places of education in the Christian faith, and locations w在这里 people could be formed in lives of prayer and 服务.
    • St. 多米尼克

Fenwick High School has this same zeal for proclaiming the Gospel and teaching people about God. The vision is for young men and women to leave Fenwick High School formed in the truths and practices of the Catholic faith, and equipped to be leaders in their future faith communities. The 多米尼克an identity calls all those involved in campus ministry to follow in the footsteps of:

  • St. Thomas Aquinas, Blessed Imelda Lambertini, and St. Hyacinth of Poland in developing a devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and the Holy Mass.
  • St. 庇护五世. 路易·德·蒙福尔, and Blessed Reginald of Orleans by developing a strong devotion to Our Lord’s Blessed Mother, and seeking her intercession in difficult times.
  • St. Martin de Porres, St. Juan Macias, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, and St. Margaret of Hungary in lives of 服务 to the poor and a call to be in solidarity with those excluded from society.
  • St. 利马玫瑰,圣. Catherine de Ricci, and the Rhineland mystics by coming to know God in a deep and abiding way.  This love of God is shown through the embrace of the quiet and taking time away from the busyness of the world to reflect and seek God’s guidance.
  • St. 多米尼克 de Guzman, St. Vincent Ferrer, and St. Catherine of Siena by bravely proclaiming God’s love for the world, the need for ongoing conversion, and the importance of regular reception of the Sacraments of Eucharist and Penance.
  • St. 殉道者彼得. Lorenzo Ruiz, and St. John of Gorkum by courageously staying faithful to the Truths of the Catholic faith, 无论代价如何.
  • St Raymond of Peñafort, Blessed Jordan of Saxony, and St. Agnes of Montepulciano by developing the leadership skill necessary to serve their faith communities, and to seek to bring others into the mission of loving and serving God and one’s neighbors.
For 多米尼克ans yesterday and today, a holy life is a balanced life of prayer, 服务, and fellowship with one’s neighbors that ultimately leads one to a deep and abiding relationship with Our Creator. In imitating the example of our forebears, we hope that we too may hear Our Heavenly Father say, “做得好, my good and faithful servant.”
